Organizing Gift Cards with Swagg

I use an iPod to organize everything! Seriously, I do not think I could function without it. I was recently contacted about reviewing an app called SWAGG that organizes your store and gift cards (they gave me a $20 gift card to try on their app). I instantly thought that would be a great fit for this blog!

Between your wedding and the bridal showers you will probably end up with quite a few gift cards. You will get gift cards for the places you register at, gift cards for restaurants, gift cards for your honeymoon, and sometimes even gift cards for places you have never even heard of! If you carry store cards (almost all stores offer them now) then your wallet will already be under stress.

I am horrible with my gift cards. Unless they are for a restaurant they tend to sit in my wallet for months. Combine that with the fact that I carry a CVS, grocery, and other rewards cards and I have a mess.

So, like I said, I was pretty excited to try SWAGG. SWAGG has launched a new app that deals with the troublesome problem of how to deal with the overabundance of gift cards, loyalty & membership cards that clutter up your wallet or handbag. Basically you can load all those gift cards, loyalty points, etc into your iPhone or Android mobile device.

Here is how they explain the app:

SWAGG allows consumers to import more than 250 brands of gift cards and rewards cards and, unlike plastic cards, SWAGG permits consumers to view available balance and reward information on most of these cards. Additionally, consumers can use their mobile device to give, get and even exchange SWAGG GIFTS from participating merchant partners such as American Apparel Inc., The Wet Seal Inc., Crocs Inc., 1-800-Flowers and Arden B. Through SWAGG, consumers can access the offers that matter most to them, connecting users with more than 3,000 retailers. Retailers benefit by acquiring new customers, increasing in-store business and retaining existing customers.

Personally, I loved the app. It is a great way to organize your loyalty points, rewards, and gift cards. The only downside is the “send gift” feature, which only has 7 stores on it right now. Hopefully they will add more stores soon.

The app is free to download, plus they are donating $1 to Stand Up To Cancer for each download in the month of December. Head on over to SWAGG to download the app (or just search for it on iTunes).

I hate keeping track of gift cards – the app is nice, but it doesn’t offer as many gift cards as I had hoped. Maybe it will catch on!
