Saving Money with a Cheap Designer Wedding Dress

You can save money on your wedding dress by sample sales, off-brand dresses, using a white bridesmaids dress, use David’s Bridal, and more, but my favorite is getting a designer dress on the cheap. It is relatively simple to do. Here is how you can snag the wedding dress of your dreams for less money.

FIND YOUR WEDDING DRESS
First, find the wedding dress of your dreams. All you need is to find the designer and style number of the wedding dress you want. There are lots of sites to help you, including the designer sites and online bridal shops. One of my favorites is House of Brides. The actual store is based in Chicago, Illinois and the online version is wonderful.  The beautiful wedding dress in the picture retails $567.99, but you can get it online for only $378.

COMPARE WEDDING DRESS PRICES
Once you find the dress you love make sure to type it into a search engine so you can compare other online prices.  I did this with the Eden dress and it turns out it can be purchased for $289.17 at plussizebridal.com.

When you find the lowest price print the page for your records along with a page that details their shipping policy (Plus Size Bridal charges $15 to ship a wedding dress).

MATCH THE WEDDING DRESS PRICE
Fax those papers to RK Bridal.  This is a bridal shop based in New York City.  They are very reputable and they will match an online price plus give you an extra 5%.  You will also have the peace of mind that comes with working with an actual bridal shop.

SAVE 40-70%
If you walk into bridal shop you will spend $567.99 plus tax ($613.43 at an 8% rate) for the Eden dress.  Buy that same dress online through a bridal shop and you will spend $274.71 plus shipping ($289.71), which is a savings of 53%.  On average you save 40-70% purchasing your wedding dress this way.

Great tips! My wedding dress shopping days are long since over, but I will definitely pass these on!

I tried and tried to find the dress of my dreams, but I couldn’t find it. Then, on a fluke, my mom showed me her sister’s wedding dress that she’d been holding onto for years. It was almost exactly what I’d been looking for! I had it altered and spend a lot less than buying new. It was meant to be!

I paid only $250 for my wedding dress. It’s a designer dress that was marked down and was absolutely beautiful (if I say so myself). I received a ton of compliments on it. It’s all about just looking!

I want a wedding gown that looks sexy but created specifically for conservative lady. Maybe sounds complicated but I think it’s possible.
